Have you ever wondered… What if?

What if we never weighed our bodies and we were just good to ourselves instead feeding our mind, body and soul with everything wholesome …

What if miracles happened all the time and we’re just too blind to notice them, too conformed to believe in them?

What if we didn’t sweat the small stuff like who said what,in which tone they said it or how a person seemed to look at us…

What if we lived life like everyday was the last, I mean truly live it this way never taking for granted a single second, a single kiss or a tight hug not even taking for granted a lingering stare that settles on an innocent child’s face as they read a book or whilst they look at their mothers face with beaming eyes….

What if we chose to be kind over being right and what if we allowed the dusty soot from negative people, comments and emotions to fall off us as easily as they settle on our shoulders…

And what would happen if we sat in silence for fifteen minutes of the day, everyday, just being, thinking, pondering, believing in the unseen whilst feeling everything …

What would happen if we placed no one on a pedestal and likewise we never looked down on a single soul, no matter how stained or how small they seemed unless we extended a hand to lift them up…

These are all mighty thoughts of what we would like to be no doubt, but what stops us? What inhibits us from being just this? What catapults us back whenever we try to be better, wiser, happier? Is it a person, is it a circumstance that unfolds or is it just ourselves?

What if we didn’t worry as much as we do because we knew that Allah always took care of us, that He always took care of everything …

What would happen if we practiced this for a month, perhaps a week or even as short a time as a single day …

What do we have to lose other than every possible dark cloud that hangs overhead as we snip its strings and release it to float away…

If tomorrow we decided to no longer chase people’s approval and we began living for ourselves and dreaming individual dreams instead, would we dream better dreams than those we were engineered to dream?

If we could go back in time, how many times would we go back & would that mean that we would live more purposely or would we just make different mistakes…

If the saying that life is what we make of it true why do we always choose to make life complicated by over thinking, over assessing whilst placing too much hope and expectations on ourselves and on others …

Why do we think that wealth means security and that happiness lies in people, destinations and things?

Who taught us everything the wrong way and how do we turn everything right side up or perhaps upside down….

What if the things we wanted to see change could only change if we changed the way we looked at them and what if instead of changing everyone else we changed just ourselves … What would happen then?

A journey starts with a single step in a new direction. While most people never venture far from the shackles that bind them to who they are, you can choose to begin a new journey by just changing the way that you think, by feeding your soul with belief, with trust, by nurturing everything that is positive and extinguishing all that is negative …

Everyday is a good day when you wake up with hope, with positivity, with gratitude, with the desire to do good, to be good, not forgetting to be good to yourself too …
